Dressage Naturally Land

Isn’t this the truth?  One of the (many) reasons I like the Dressage Naturally system is the underlying philosophy that dressage is meant to improve the average horse, not just be a showcase for spectacular moving (expensive$$$) horses to display the upper level movements.  Nothing wrong with that of course, but not the wheelhouse of the average dressage rider who just wants to be in harmony and balance with their horse.

A new Facebook group has been started called Dressage Naturally Land.  It is moderated by Karen Rohlf, creator of DN, and it is open to all those interested in the Dressage Naturally mindset.  If you are just dipping your toe into DN or are just interested in certain aspects of the program, it is an excellent and free way to get a lot of information.  While I highly recommend the book and the video classroom in addition to all the free blogs and videos on the DN website, Dressage Naturally Land is also a really a fun educational addition on Facebook that you might want to check out.

  2. This to me is what dressage is about -- bringing out the best in the horse in front of you. I recently picked up a 2nd hand copy of one of Erik Hebermann's (or however you spell it) books & I LOVE that he uses his 3 example horses which are backyard crossbreds which he describes with terms like "has a terrible choppy pony trot" & "naturally downhill."

  3. The Herbermann book is really good. A lot of the same dressage philosophy.
